Here's how my gray water planter looked when I got back from working on the Brighton Earthship last year. Then, below, how it looks now. Lush!

Didnt know which blog entry to post on so I thought I,d go ahead and post here. I noticed its been a year since this blogs been updated and was wondering how things have been. Myself, I,m looking out for a piece of property to get started on one, and would like to ask if one needs a lay of the land to do any planning for an earthship or any kind of home. I live in southwest Kansas, and dont let the flat sound fool you. There are some pretty good sized hills here. But it is mostly sandy where I live, and it has me wondering if sand will pack as good as dirt.

Hi, I am currently a journalism student at Columbia COllege in Chicago and am writing a report about earthships, the building of them and what it's like living in one. Upon conducting my research, I came across your blog and am intrigued by how beautiful your earthship is! I would love to interview if this would be possible...

I love the name. Sort of science fiction, yet down to earth.

Hello Kirst,

You seem to know about a lot of earthships. I'd like to add any you can help me with to this map.

Awesome home!

I am looking to build an earthship in the pacific northwest area and I wanted to know if you knew of any communities or people building them in that area.

I am in the research phase of where and if an earthship can be totally off-grid in the PNW. I would love your thoughts!

I think I've looked at your blog posts a thousand times now! LOL The bottle-bathroom is awesome of course. And I can't stop coming back to the before & after of the planter. My husband and I are in the early planning phases of our home in the Pacific NW and I'm obsessed. Beautiful job. :)

hello, I wanted to email you this comment but I couldnt find a way to contact you via this blog- I apologize if it is somewhere obvious! I have a simple question- I am raising money to build an earthship community and was wondering if I could use any of your pics as examples of what a finished earthship would look like. Thanks so much for your consideration! wintercantagallo@gmail.com
